Annie
Simpson
I am jewelry student at the Maryland Institute
College of Art (MICA). This piece was part of a class assignment on
hollow forms.
This reliquary serves as a remembrance of my
daughter who was stillborn. I have no material items to remember her
by or to hold, so this reliquary serves that purpose. I filled the
reliquary with symbolic items for her -- two of my lampworked beads,
a pewter bead from Green Girl Studios and a small pink bead I found.
The piece is meant to be either hung on a
wall or held in one's hand.
More
