Karen King, the Winner of the Summer 2004 Bead O'the Quarter

"I love these earthy looking beads. The base bead of both of these electroformed beads is a lentil shape made with Effetre ivory, copper leaf and silver leaf. The granular texture in the electroformed work is applied with the copper conductive paint prior to electroforming, and enhanced by tiny glass marbles. To finish, the electroformed beads are exposed to ammonia fumes to darken the bright copper."
