Click here for a listing of jewelry-making and metal working classes in the DC/Baltimore Metro area

Here is the listing of workshop venues and teachers of glass beadmaking in the Mid-Atlantic region. It's organized by state, but many Mid-Atlantic teachers offer classes in more than one state, so study the listings carefully.

Last update to this page was: 30July2006 All links verified live Apr05!
See our Disclaimer with regard to classes and workshops: Remember: your safety is YOUR responsibility.

ATTENTION! The Mid-Atlantic Glass Beadmakers (the SGB/MA) specifically disclaims any responsibility or liability for damages or injuries resulting from participation in any classes listed in this web site. Classes are listed as a service to our members and the public. The Mid-Atlantic Glass Beadmakers (the SGB/MA) does not recommend or endorse specific classes or instructors listed herein.

Recommended Teaching Standards for Beginning Beadmaking Classes, from the ISGB, is an excellent set of guidelines describing what a beginners' class should consist of. Ask appropriate questions and measure prospective teachers' class descriptions against these standards. Demand quality and safety!

The ISGB now offers an Instructors Seminar at its annual conference. Ask potential teachers and workshop leaders if they have attended it.

Useful thread on WetCanvas, for both prospective students and instructors: Bad experience with a class I took...Anyone else?? Look at this before you commit to a class. You'll be happy you did.

Remember, teaching is an art and a gift. Very few people are gifted teachers. When you find one, you have found a treasure.
